I studied traditional stained glass making for several years at Wrexham Glyndwr University many moons ago, learning my craft in what was once an old Victorian hospital, complete with its clinical white tiles and echoing long corridors! I then graduated and worked as an Archaeologist assistant, excavating Gloucester city docklands then later for British Rail as their travel officer. After a few years, I returned to my childhood home Pembrokeshire to study again, this time in Industrial Design with a very small child in tow!
I later returned back to work in the city, meeting my husband, getting married, extending our family, and raised them all in his Gloucestershire town.
So finally, I have now the opportunity to return to rediscover the beguiling beauty of glass once more.
My work is influenced by local landscapes, the beauty of our changing seasons, concentrating mainly on my love of autumn and winter scenes.
I tend to stick to the traditional handcrafting techniques of stained glass, using beautiful coloured glass imported from Italy, leadcame and solder, I also like to incorporate floating lead and organic materials into my work so as to tell my story. My creations then become very unique and bespoke.
